Tour to Machu Picchu by Train From Ollanta 1 Day

The citadel of Machu Picchu is located on the left side of the Vilcanota River, 130 kilometers from Cusco, whose name comes from Quechua (machu pikchu, "Old Mountain").

Built approximately in the middle of the 15th century, the discovery of this city dates back to 1912, the year in which the Scientific Commission of Yale University headed by Hiram Bingham came to it making important studies.

Among the multitude of remains that the visitor will admire in this city, which until now lives full of mystery, the following deserve to be highlighted:

Viewpoint, Main Square, Temple of the Three Windows, The Solar Observatory (called Intiwatana), The Palace of the Inca, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Condor, Temple of the Pachamama and the Huaynapicchu Mountain.

Machu Picchu has been considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 1983, also known as the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. On the other hand, in a recent world contest, one of the New Wonders of the Modern World has been chosen.
